It is not long ago that Artificial intelligence was believed to be the thing only found in science fiction films. Nowadays, this sort of innovation is taking place over all the sectors of life and in all the fields like accounting, business, fashion etc. This AI revolution is not expected to back off in the near future. As this innovation progresses and turns out to be all more dominant, professional specialists, including bookkeepers, are beginning to stress over about what will be the future of their career due to the introduction and constantly expansion of AI in their field. As AI is putting threat on the jobs of white-collar workers, it is expected that AI will replace the accountants in the near future. I believe that AI will metamorphose not replace the Accountants. Although there is no doubt that with the help of AI, accountants are able to do most of their tasks easily and efficiently but there always will be need of humans and their intelligence to the company to accelerate its business. The another thing we should never forget that human beings are the one who introduced this innovation (AI) to the world, they are the creator of these machines and are in charge of directing, operating and controlling them. In fact , according to leading research firm,Gartner, AI is set to create more jobs than it will replace,leaving workers,including accountants with options. Accountants will be needed to analyse and interpret the AI data, as well as well as providing advisory services. So, in this way AI is shifting the role of accountants from doing bookkeeping to the more advisory role. Instead of investing hours on monotonous tasks, accountants will be able give the time to their clients by providing them various business solutions which in turn helps in building strong relationship with the client.
I am definitely satisfied with him that AI helps with many tasks and one of them is bookkeeping but there are some that AI can not perform but human can do like dealing with the clients or business owners as this is the personal relationship. Accountants can better tell the clients about their tax situations. We can depend upon the machines to make logical and rational decisions that are generally based on facts but there are other aspects of life that can’t be copied by the machines. There are many aspects that play important role in all type of businesses like related to feelings, emotions,sentiments, moods, judgement etc. While dealing with these aspects, AI fails as these are only advantaged to human beings. As mentioned in the video , when it comes to perform highly complex and complicated tasks, robots fails to provide flexibility and creativity in finding the solution. The tasks performed by the human and human interaction will never be made obsolete because of machines. In my opinion, AI will not replace the accountants in the near future as well.
